Health of African Immigrants Program (HAIP)
Advancing health equity through research, community, and action.
HAIP is a student-led initiative dedicated to understanding and addressing the unique health challenges faced by African immigrants in Southwest Philadelphia. Through community engagement, research, and collaboration, we work to bridge gaps in healthcare access and awareness.
Community Engagement: Host focus groups, discussions, and service events
Partnerships: Collaborate with local organizations to deliver impactful health initiatives
Advocacy: Raise awareness about health disparities affecting African immigrant populations
African immigrant communities often face barriers to healthcare, including language differences, cultural gaps, and limited access to resources. HAIP exists to listen, learn, and act to ensure that these communities are seen, heard, and supported.
Whether you're passionate about public health, research, or community service, HAIP offers a space to make a real impact.
